France donates $250,000

The Fiji Times published that the French Ambassador Michel Monnier handed over a cheque of $250,000 to the Fiji Red Cross Society to assist in its flood relief operations.
France and the French territories in the South Pacific have given grants to assist stricken families and businesses. Noumea provided $20,000 worth of school supplies and $65,000 to the Fiji Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses resume operations. In total, France, New Caledonia and French Polynesia have given Fiji $380,000.
And, what is the EU doing? Why ECHO assistance is not in the press?
