Fijian artists: Sharon Anne Light

Sharon is a descendant of a settler family that arrived in Fiji in 1869 to grow cotton in Ra. Born in Suva in 1948, Sharon has spent the last 15 years painting apparel, only since mid 2003 has she concentrated on paintings. Keen on fishing and diving, she currently holds the World Record (women) for great barracuda. Previous occupations include, Office Manager, Air Hostess, Enamelled copper art, Dior Rep, Commercial fishing, hand painted apparel.
Her Tapa-painting 1st Voyage was selected by the Fiji government to present as a gift to the NZ government in 2004 & painting Vulnerable was presented by Fiji VicePresident to the new NZ Governor General in 2006.
